The refurbishment of the front façade and ground floor lobby has reactivated the tired Chesser House frontage. The renovation of the facade included the introduction of large glazing planes and canopies, complete with an interactive lightbox installation. At night, this element glows with a striking colour changing series of lighting effects. The lightbox is the centrepiece of the foyer and visually connects the indoor and outdoor spaces which, together with the large scale building numbers, also aids the identification of the building along the streetscape.
The ground floor foyer includes a café and a working lounge aimed at improving the tenant and visitor experience. The sophisticated interior finishes, within the voluminous space, are kept classically natural, neutral and are of high quality. The suspended circular lighting installation and large scale green wall provide visual interest and improved environmental credentials.
The building refurbishment team have worked to realise the client’s vision to position Chesser House as one of Adelaide’s landmark building addresses with the overall result being an attractive destination for both visitors and building tenants.
